Every once in a while i tend to get a private message in my twitter account from a friend that is close to me, but as i read the message i then realize its not my friend talking because it just doesnt sound like them. For example the message i received from one of my good friends said the following "have you seen these pictures of you, sooo embarrassing." it then had a link to follow. Luckily i knew it was a trap for some time of privacy violation.
a lot of times it seems to me that people are just a little careless with their platforms and allow them to easily get hacked. I cant tell you the number of times i have borrowed a friends computer to check my Facebook, and i go to facebook.com and its already logged into my friends account. So like any good friend would do, I post something really embarrassing as their status and then i log out. haha, you gotta have some fun and in the end teach your friend a lesson!
As I was looking into this online, i found on mashable how to keep your twitter account safe and free from getting hacked. and the number one thing that showed up, of course the most annoying... having a long and strong password! nobody likes using a long password it takes to long to type in, a 4 digit pin would be so much preferable especially this one 1234. check out the link below, its quite easy as to how to protect your twitter!

I totally feel you on the password bit. It is so annoying to remember a password that must be at least 10 characters and contain one capital letter and one lower case letter and a number and a emoticon expressing how you feel... You get my point. I have ONE password. ha But I guess it would be smart for me to put a little more effort into it.
ReplyDeleteGood take on it Jordan, interesting read on a not so interesting topic!
ReplyDeleteThe most annoying thing is having to change passwords. If I don't use my regular password, I will never remember it. I should do a much better job at making them longer and using numbers.
ReplyDeleteI know that long passwords can be a pain but in the long run it just makes things easier. You just need to come up with something that you can easily remember even if its your favorit sports team favorite color.
ReplyDeleteI feel you on long passwords... but I always make sure mine is long and safe because nobody likes hacking! Great post!
